Tudor House Kitchen \\ before & after

A room is finally all the way done in the little cottage we bought last August. It's been almost a year and the house is mostly complete, we are moved in, have a new little lady and are loving this sweet home. We didn't intend at first to be moving here, but for tax reasons, it just made sense. So we will be here a couple years and then see what's next!

This home. It's my dream. I love cottages and the cupboards were inspired by the English. I love the inset doors and how there are no toe kicks, so it looks like a piece of furniture. It was so fun designing this house and having our cabinet guy create my vision for the kitchen into life.  The cabinets are painted grey birch by Glidden and I am still loving it! Billy built these open shelves using wooden corbels from home depot! He also made my range hood cover dreams come true. We picked out a subway tile, also from home depot, that has a crackle handmade look, which we love!

The whole house was taken down to studs so we could replace the wiring, plumbing and add insulation and ducting. The home didn't have much character inside, but we did keep the doug fir hard woods and Billy restored and stained them using Provincial by minwax.

This oven wall was the exterior wall, but now has a laundry room on the other side because they didn't have indoor laundry when the house was built in 1930. More before and afters to come, I cannot wait!
